So like myself, many cruisers continue their working life while they're out here. Some even take up other pursuits that can help contribute to the "cruising kitty." Some people learn how to mend sails. Some create jewelry from beads and shells and sell them to other cruisers. Some become self-taught diesel mechanics and lend out their repair skills for "coconuts" - the code-word for money in a country where us foreigners aren't allowed to sell things; we can only trade. This guy pulled into the anchorage here yesterday. He apparently became (or continued his practice as) a masseuse, as advertised on the port quarter of his vessel:
[Edit: Note that from this image I used to have a link to a blown up version of the pic that revealed the man isn't wearing any pants. However, it's a bit too revealing, and I've talked to the guy on the radio (regarding anchoring; we're neighbors in Melaque), and well, he's really a nice guy, so I don't want to put that other pic in there. Still, the message remains... I guess... if you're going to advertise massage, anywhere at any time, wear shorts or something.]TT
